2021 11U (Mosquito) Fall Tryouts
Submitted By Greg Stepaniak on Monday, August 31, 2020
This year we are looking at having fall tryouts for the 2021 team. This will allow us to have the team selected early, and to be able to work with the kids periodically throughout the winter in order to prepare them for the 2021 season. Mosquito baseball is very dependent on the pitcher and catcher positions. Due to rules specific to mosquito it is very important to develop a number of players to play these positions. This is where the primary focus of these winter workouts will be.

In order to register for the 2021 Mosquito Tryouts, the registration form under the registration tab must be filled out. For those that are not currently registered for the 2020 season, a $10 fee will be charged upon arrival to the first workout to cover insurance and facility costs.
To allow for any players who did not play this year to get back into the swing of things we will offer an open workout before the tryouts begin. Everyone is welcome to come out to this workout to throw the ball around and run through some drills to get prepared for the tryouts. The open workout will occur on Mon Sep 7 at 6:00PM until 7:30PM. This workout is optional, and only intended to allow everyone to get out onto the field.
For the tryouts, there will be 4 workouts.  Tryouts will occur on the following dates:

Thursday Sep 10 at 6PM
Tuesday Sep 15 at 6PM
Thursday Sep 17 at 6PM
Friday Sep 18 at 6PM
Evaluations will be performed by independent evaluators who will focus on the different facets of the game. We will be looking at fielding ability, throwing ability, hitting ability, and overall understanding of the game
We understand that this is a busy time of year, with hockey starting up and other fall activities. Missing one tryout will not make or break a player's ability to make the team as we will be looking at performances across the tryouts as a whole.
If your player is interested in trying out, please click on the registration tab, and fill out the registration form.
