Congratulations to Tyler Bauman of the Kincardine Cardinals 11U team for being named 2021 Baseball Ontario 13U Pitcher of the year
Tyler led the Cardinals in games pitched (11), wins, IP (38), SO (77), and WHIP (1.05). Tyler held opponents to a .168 batting average while striking out 77 and only walking 15 over 38 innings pitched. With the pitch count rules in effect Tyler was a master at getting through innings with the minimum pitches used. He led the team throwing only 16.8 pitches per inning throughout the year. To go along with his pitching prowess, he was also the team's #4 hitter finishing near or at the top of most offensive categories. Tyler was a true double threat on the field
Tyler was the prototypical ace of the Cardinals pitching staff. Whenever there was a big game to be pitched, Tyler wanted the ball. Tyler is always quick to offer a tip to a struggling teammate, or even just advice on how to improve. He has a keen eye for helping others with their fundamentals and is always aware of what is going on in the field. His focus on the field and knowledge of the game is second to none for his age group. Tyler earned praise from every opponent that we played this year with his poise on the mound, and his ability to throw strikes at high velocity
