KINCARDINE CARDINALS 11U WIN 2021 BASEBALL ONTARIO TEAM OF THE YEAR!!!
Submitted By KMBA Executive on Friday, November 19, 2021
Congratulations to the Kincardine Cardinals 11U Baseball Team for being named the 2021 Baseball Ontario team of the year!!

The Kincardine Cardinals 11U REP team had a perfect 7-0 record through their abbreviated regular season where they outscored their opponents 84-29. This prepared the team for the August Madness journey they were about to embark on. Through round 1 of the August Madness Provincial playoffs, the 11U Cardinals went 6-0 to maintain their perfect record and move on to the Championship round. Faced with the most difficult schedule in their championship group, and three times a much travel as any of the other teams, the Cardinals put together a 5-1 record as they ran through the Sarnia area gauntlet in the Championship round to capture the 2021 11U D Provincial Championship. Along the way, the Cardinals dispatched of teams from Mount Forest, Corunna, Wyoming, Dresden and Alvinston. Their only loss coming in walk off fashion by one run. After the high of winning the provincial championship the Cardinals moved on to their WOBA year end tournament where they went 2-1 to finish in third place. Their only loss came after falling behind 5-0 after 2 innings and battling back to 5-4 and leaving the tying run at third base. Overall the 11U Cardinals finished with an 20-2 record while outscoring their opponents 241-112

The 11U Cardinals maintained a poise and focus that was beyond their years. They showed a commitment to improving themselves on and off the field over the course of the entire season. Observers noticed that their baseball knowledge, focus and communication on the field were above most 13U teams. Every opponent and umpire was treated with respect and fair play was a trademark of this team.

This team had a perfect combination of players on the field who complemented each other in every aspect of the game. The coaching staff was a mix of personalities that combined perfectly to form a calm and steady guidance for this championship team.

Congratulations to the entire team on a well deserved award!!!
